How is a "Black Muslim" different from any other Muslim who is black?

I recently heard the term "black muslim" and wonder if it is simply describing the race of the Islamic believer or if "black muslim" is a separate religion?

Thank you|||It's the same religion but with alot more racism, black muslims are more prone to hating white people. I've seen it happen alot so thats just my experiences on that.|||That is true only for the old-time muslim that converted in the '60's. If you remember correctly "The Nation of Islam" was pro-black and anti-white, since then the newer generations of muslims have not hated whites because "The Nation" was not the true Islam.

|||whoever said that could also be referring to the "nation of Islam" whose followers are all african-american and they take after the belief of elijah muhammed. their beliefs are more racist because they believe the white man is the "devil" and what not. but orthodox Islam does not discriminate towards any race or color. if you're truly Muslim, you're Muslim...white, black, chinese, whatever. Malcolm X was once part of the nation of Islam until he went to Mecca and discovered race and color were transparent. everyone wore white clothing to express the equality they all share no matter the race, gender. thats when Malcolm coverted to orthodox Islam, tru Islam.|||That could be regarded as a racist remark whether or not used in a ubsentmidedly frank way to describe a Muslim with african or similar ethnic group. However in Muslim world, there is no black muslim, James.

There is just Muslim. And all of them stand equel before Allah.|||it is what the user of the term things it is to him.

when i hear the term black muslim i think of a person of color who changed religions because they thought the muslim belief system spoke to them clearer then christian religions.

mybe the muslim religions see their follows as colors instead of people - who knows.|||The main belief of The Nation of Islam and its followers is that there is no other God but Allah. However, they redefine "Allah" by saying "who came in the person of W. D. Fard."

Fard founded the Nation of Islam and subsequently installed Elijah Muhammad as the organization's leader.

The official beliefs of the Nation of Islam have been outlined in books, documents, and articles published by the organization as well as speeches by Elijah Muhammad, Malcolm X, Louis Farrakhan, and other 'ministers'.|||A "Black Muslim" is a Muslim, usually living in the western world, who is of African, not necessarily Middle-Eastern, decent. It is kind of a politically-incorrect term.|||There's no difference if you're talking about "black Muslims" that follows the orthodox Islam. To add to what SHAY said,If you're thinking of Nation of Islam, then there's a world of difference and they are not considered Muslims.|||No, It's The Same Religion This term is only used by racists.

But In Islam , There Is No Different Between The Black Muslim %26amp; the one one.

All Muslims Are Similar Whatever Their Color Is|||It's referring to the race, it's the same religion.|||Nekhtet is right! I'm a Muslim, so...
