How do I make a picture black and white with color in it?

If you look on myspace, you can see lots of pictures that are black and white. There are also pictures that are black and white with a shirt or their eyes in color instead of being in black and white. How in the world do you do that?|||Here is the easiest way I know how to do it.

In Photoshop:

1.Import your color image

2. Make a duplicate background layer

3. Turn the layer to black and white (or grayscale)

4. Use the eraser tool and erase the parts you want to be in color

That's it!|||1. Open photo (using photo editing software such as Photoshop)

2. Duplicate background layer

3. Desaturate top layer into B%26amp;W

4. Erase top layer (eraser tool) to show the lower layer

If you want to use different colors continue steps below -

5. Select background layer

6. Open up Hue / Saturation

7. Choose colorize

8. Play with sliders to produce the color you want.|||in photoshop use the polygonal lasso tool (there are other tools but that's my persaonal fav) to select the objects you want to remain colored. if there's more than one object hold shift to add to the selection. repeat until all desired parts are selected. then click select%26gt;select inverse. this selects everything but the objects you want to remain colored. next click image%26gt;adjustments%26gt;hue/saturation and drag the saturation slider all the way down to -100. and boom! you have your image.

btw these are mac instructions. pc keyboard shortcuts are slightly different.

hope this helps and good luck!|||as shown in gimp,

same with photoshop, create new copy of image, change to grayscale (and back to rgb) or desaturate / remove color, then from original color copy, select portion of image with lasso tool, copy and paste in new layer of b%26amp;w image, if image is already b%26amp;w, and you want coloured highlights , create new layer, select area to be coloured, and paint in colour, then use transparency or opacity bar to lower amount, as in photobie shown,

..|||Photoshop|||With the image in photoshop, go to IMAGE%26gt;ADJUSTMENTS%26gt;DESATURATE

Then create a new layer, take your paint brush and choose a color and paint whatever you would like to have its color back. Changing the blending mode in the layer palette will help blend the painted color onto picture and make more realistic. BE CAREFUL though with the edges! Just like as a kid with a coloring book - stay in the lines!!! HOPE THAT HELPED!|||You need to buy this special technology from like Wal*Mart at their photo center. THen give them the pic that u want to get fixed and then in a few minutes it should be done. That's how I remember it. It may not be the same for younger people becuz sometimes u can do it by computer.|||go to image and take the rgb off|||PhotoShop|||Did you try PhotoShop?
